Project Office PJSC "Mostobud" was established in 1999 by experienced structural designers. From the time of its establishment Project Office has been creating only bridge designs for individual projects.

The first major work of the Project Office was designing a peculiar bridge in Salekhard in Russia with three-storey restaurant on batter leg tower leaning towards the mainstream. Bridge constructions were designed employing ideas of a famous moskow architect I.A. Vasilevskij. Positioning a heavy restaurant with immense wind surface, taking into account vibration restrictions and fire safety cautions, temperature drops, etc. caused serious concerns during development of its design. Structural designers had to use extraordinary construction solutions. The bridge was put into operation in the year 2003 and was distinguished in a Russian record book "Levsha". Moskow institute CJSC Kurortproekt was a chief designer of the project.

New construction solutions were developed in order to create locked box-like diagonal web elements on a steel bridge across Vellaparad channel in Russia. Project Office created a main engineering project and project SBSU. The bridge was built in the year 2002.

Project Office was the first one to implement modern composite reinforced concrete superstructures with slender connector in Ukraine. The first composite reinforced concrete superstructures were built on Kyiv-Odesa highway using 8+42+8m scheme. We should also include archy composite reinforced concrete superstructures with variable-area with spans of 40-45 meters into modern construction developments.

Archy composite reinforced concrete superstructures for subway and automobiles in a two-level overpass were designed for Podil bridgework crossing Dnieper in Kyiv.

On a road-cum-rail superstructure of two-level bridge truss over Desenka in Kyiv orthotropic plate decks of car passage with curved ribs were used for the first time, as well as orthotropic plate deck of original design and leakproof construction of flange and diagonal web elements.

A bridge across the Harbor was designed on demand of Kyiv Road and Bridge Construction Institute. Polygonal chord of truss and different span distances create a composition that will match well with architecture of old Podil.

Among other bridges that are currently being built in Ukraine, we should mention three bridges that Project Office is working on. It is a portal frame bridge across Dnieper in Kyiv and two bridges in Zaporizhzhja. Chief designer of bridgeworks in Kyiv and Zaporizhzhja is the main bridge engineering institute CJSC Kyivsouzdorproekt.

On the order of Kyivsouzdorproekt, Project Office is completing a design of an arch span of the bridge across Dnieper in Kyiv. Steel superstructure covers the mainstream of Dneiper without bridge abutment on a span of 344m. A spandrel column is suspended on a carrier cable to the steal arch. Automobile transport will move on an upper level of a spandrel column, and lower level will be occupied by subway and communications. A span of this bridge is among the largest in the world.

Cable-stayed bridge across mainstream of Dnieper in Zaporizhzhja. Bridge pylon made of concrete on the height of 150 meters holds a steel beam with a span of 260 m. The total length of the bridge is 660 m.

Old Dnieper is covered by 260 meter bridge span of a peculiar construction: a combination of an arch and frame bridge. The design of the bridge is determined not so much by construction necessities, but by architectural ideas.

Project Office pays a lot of attention to the architecture of the structures and is not afraid of making structures more complicated. We need to mention that bridge designs offered by Project Office and handed over to architects usually receive confirmation without any further architectural amendments.

Project Office also undertakes scientific research and publishing activities. A monograph "Steel Bridges" by Mykhailo Korniev was published in the year 2003. Main calculations pertaining to steel bridge construction are gathered in the book and complemented by relevant requirements valid in Europe and the US. The book is in a great demand among bridge building engineers. Method of calculation of steel constructions endurance ratio developed by Project Office was integrated into new bridge construction requirements.

Project Office has modern software, part of which was designed by the Office. Our specialists also take part in software development, such as "LIRA-SOFT" for projecting surfaces of influence, defining forces and shifting in bridge cross sections, including road-cum-rail bridges. The program pioneered in constructing combined road-cum-rail bridge across Desenka. Currently a software program that will give an opportunity to make all strength, stableness and endurance analysis of complex steel constructions is being designed.
