| Today you would hardly find in Ukraine a bridgework that was constructed without a contribution of “Mostobud” | |
The ground work for PJSC “Mostobud” was laid in the times of the Great Patriotic War, when constructors-to-be as soldiers built bridges and temporary passways under an everlasting gunfire.
In august of 1945 in order to repair bridgework destroyed by war and build new bridges a Bridge Construction Administration of Upper Dnieper River basin of the Main Bridge Construction Administration of People’s Commissariat of Communications (Mostostroj ¹1) based in Kyiv was created by resolution of State defense committee and order of People’s Commissar of Communications of USSR.
In 1993 the company was reorganized into joint-stock company “Mostobud”.
“Mostobud” built over 5 thousand engineering constructions through its 60-year history. Among those are the most well-known bridges in the capital that connect banks of Dnieper River. These are: Parkovyi, named after Academician Paton, Darnickyi Bridge, Moskowskyi, Yuzhnyi and Metro Bridge. Bridges in regions all over the country are in fact constructed by workers of “Mostobud”.
In general it amounts to about 1,1 thousand railroad bridges and crossovers with a total length of over 55 km, over 4 thousand highway bridges and crossovers with a total length of 120 km, a large number of road junctions, pedestrian bridges and underground walkways in Ukraine and other countries of the world.
The company has contributed to a wide array of unique projects, such as Ukrainian House, Ukrainian museum of Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, National Sports Complex “Olympic” and others.
Company employees have also taken part in Baikal-Amur Mainline construction, within the Arctic Circle. Symbolic «Visiting cards» of the company are objects that successfully function in Finland, Czech Republic, Lebanon, Turkey, Afganistan, Vietnam and other countries.
Currently “Mostobud” is working on construction of Podil Bridge crossover in Kyiv and highway over Dnieper River in Zaporizhzhja.
In Podil crossover it is planned to consolidate car traffic with subway. This unique structure will have two levels, consisting of 6 bridges and 4 flyovers.
A highway in Zaporizhzhja will cross Dnieper River and Old Dnieper. Specialists made provisions beforehand for the construction not to damage a historical part of Kozak Khortycja and to preserve ecological state of the environment. The President of Ukraine has reduced the term for putting into operation the highway bringing together dormitory suburbs with administrative and cultural districts
Since 2005 “Mostobud” has taken part in construction of Railroad-Motor bridgework in Kyiv.
Structural subdivisions of “Mostobud” are situated all over Ukraine which gives them an opportunity to easily reach any destination in shortest terms.
Mechanization management, modern Project Office and 11 construction groups are incorporated in the company.
Unique Project Office is furnished with the most up-to-date equipment and software and has highly qualified staff. All of this contributes to carrying out especially complicated calculations in short terms, offering new and extraordinary bridgeworks from steel and reinforced concrete of various complexity, and engineering in compliance with Eurocads and bridge construction standards of the USA and Russia.
The company possesses modern technologies and techniques that allows us to construct in a reliable, quality and fast way.
An exclusive for the C.I.S. mobile modular floating pontoon crane with the capacity of 1200 tons is being built on request of the company. It will be able to operate in shallow and narrow waters that will assure construction of unique large single-piece bridgeworks.
High quality standards and reliability of the company have become a characteristic feature of “Mostobud” trade-mark.
In the year 2005 a new “Quality management system” (State standard of Ukraine ISO 9001:2001 which conforms to international standard ISO 9001:2000) was introduced into “Mostobud” management. A certificate issued proves that corporate management of joint-stock company “Mostobud” meets the highest world standards.
In December 2005 in compliance with presidential decree a large group of specialists from “Mostobud” were awarded orders, medals and honorary title of “Honored constructor of Ukraine” for their immense input into prescheduled completion and putting into operation of bridge crossover on Kahovs’ka HES dam, for professionalism and commitment to their work.
An interesting and intensive work is still ahead as bridge constructing was prioritized for years to come by economic development plans of Ukraine.
Only according to Kyiv City Building Counsel 11 bridges will be functioning across the Dnieper River by the year 2020. PJSC “Mostobud” will take part in these projects. Bridge construction in area of Koncha-Zaspa at the southern by-pass of Kyiv with two major bridges across the Dnieper River, Obolons’kyi Bridge construction and bridge crossover near the island Vodnikov, reconstruction of bridges in Kyiv are also planned.
PJSC “Mostobud” is confidently entering construction markets in other countries, placing priority on Russian Federation and Eastern Europe.
